Reference 2532 was launched in 1952 (together with its center seconds sibling ref. 2533) as a replacement for reference 565. In fact, the curved design of the case is obviously inherited from the previous model, but it has been updated with more modern details. Following the fashion of the time, an extra bevel was added to the outer contour of the case as well as a stepped bezel, which endorsed more complex design. Such minute details are extremely sensitive to polishing and can be fully appreciated only on an untouched case, such as the one of the present piece.
Produced from 1952 to 1956 in yellow, pink and white gold, the reference 2532 is a rare watch in today's market. Considered large for its time, collectors nicknamed the reference the "Grande Calatrava", as the watch is encased in a 35mm case and features striking angular lugs.
The timepiece is powered by the traditional manual winding calibre 12-400 featuring the Geneva Hallmark, considered the ultimate benchmark in quality and finishing.
The present example features a silvered dial with applied yellow gold indexes and matching dauphine hands.
One of less than 200 pieces ever produced during its 4 year life-span and one of approximately 20 coming back to the market.
What is most remarkable, however, is the fact that the watch Comes with original 14K Gold Bracelet. This makes it even More Rare to find.
