For Sale is this Angelus 1940s Rare 'Big Eyes' Chronograph
This Angelus chronograph has a cool vintage vibe and won't break the bank. The dark dial tone is contrasted by gilt accents that work really well with the overall look. The sub-dials are quite large and reminiscent of some Heuer "Big-Eyes" chronographs. The sub-dials are also engine-turned, adding some nice dimension to the watch's appearance. The minutes register counts up to 30 minutes. The gold Sword hands are another neat detail, providing this Angelus with even more charm. Angelus also made versions of this chronograph for the Hungarian Air Force (those have military markings). All in all, this Angelus is a great example of a vintage chronograph with an interesting appearance and a well-sized 35mm steel case. We paired this chronograph with our Leather Strap in Blue. We think it elevates this Angelus and makes it suitable for wear in both dressy and casual settings. The case is strong with scratches. The caseback number and engravings are clearly visible. The case is likely unpolished, as the edges of the lugs and the feet on the bottom of the lugs are all visible. The dial has developed patina throughout. The lume on the hands and dial have both darkened. The hands have developed some oxidation. The crown is unsigned which is not uncommon for this model. The crystal has some wear and scratches.
