This stainless steel Movado Super Sub Sea DATRON 434-705-501 ref: (w/Stainless screw down crown) is available fully serviced. The watch has fabulous time keeping as it's hallmark, and is available thoroughly checked. The case reference 434-705-501, was released in 1976 and has a 17 jewels rotor weight, I believe these were recorded for delivery in the mainland U.S. only. The important part about these Zenith El Primero timepieces - although the jewel count does not differ in both 17 jewels/31 jewels versions, for the U.S.A. import control, Movado and Zenith both issued these 17 jewels versions. This was only due to the customs had a significantly lower customs duty for lesser jewels count mechanisms.
The dial and hands on this Super Sub Sea are indeed flawless! The UV light activates all the luminous compounds and it shows up as Tritium. There are virtually no blemishes on the dial and hands. As for the case, it was not detailed or polished. The watch had a slight crack at the tachymeter triangle at 12 o'clock, and I managed to patch it up a little bit using some watchmaker's UV paste, and I put my best efforts into closing that gap, as the inner tachymeter ring is made out of bakelite, I chose UV paste- as it will cure like crystal, and will survive any unintended shocks to the bezel. The other bezel tachymeter ring is made in stainless steel and has an engine turned rim, so the manipulation to turn the ring is more convenient and not difficult, a brand new spring has been installed into this ring. The watch movement EL Primero 3019 PHC maintains a fantastic +/- 5 seconds per day average, and is a pure delight to wear. The watch is a collector's dream, so please note the price is firm.
